Experiential learning is the process of learning through experience, and is more specifically defined as "learning through reflection on doing".
"Experiential [learning] is a philosophy and methodology in which educators purposefully engage with students in direct experience and focused reflection in order to increase knowledge, develop skills, and clarify values" (Association for Experiential Education).
It is also referred to as learning through action, learning by doing, learning through experience, and learning through discovery and exploration, all which are clearly defined by these well- known maxims:
- Confucius, 450 BC
- Benjamin Franklin, 1750
- John Dewey, 1938
LeAD Solutions uses Experiential Learning as a fundamental in its training programs and workshops. In addition, we work with teachers, trainers, and educators to work on the methods and methodologies to bring experiential learning into the classroom (school, college and other learning spaces).
